Step 1 – Prepare the Silverware

First, prepare all the silver jewelry you want to polish. The trick is to set them up on a lining of aluminum foil in the dish. It is imperative to make sure that the jewelry objects are placed far from each other and not overlapping each other. This will ensure that when you add baking soda, each object is evenly coated. When you have placed the jewelry, sprinkle baking soda over them.

Step  2 – Boil Water

Next, take some water in a pan. You have to take enough water so that you can cover the silver jewelry in the dish that you want to polish. When you have taken enough water, bring it to boil on a flame. Add salt during the boiling process. When the water has boiled for a while, pour the water over the silver jewelry. 

Step 3 – Finish the Job

When you have poured the boiling water over the silverware, mix the silver jewelry around with a wooden spoon. Do not use a metal spoon as it can coat the silverware too. When the objects have cooled down, you will notice that they are shiny and without tarnish. Take them out and wipe with a dry cloth to shine them even more.
