One of the most sought after MP3 devices is the iPod from Macintosh. This article will show you how to obtain a video from the Internet and how to put it on your iPod.
Step 1: Find the Video Want
There are many sources for free videos from movies to TV commercials. If you want to get a video that may have a copyright attached to it, you have to contact the owner to get permission to download it. When you have a video you want to download you have to find the direct link to it. It will either be in your Internet browser's navigation bar or on the video page.
Step 2: Video Conversion
For your iPod to properly play a video it has to be in the correct format. In order to convert the video you need to search for: "free convert to ipod video". You will either find a software program you can download or an Internet site that does it for you. The method to get the video to your iPod is the same regardless of which method you choose to use. The easiest course of action is to use an Internet site for the conversion. For these sites you input the address of the video that you want to download and convert. The site will locate the video and start converting it. You will either download it directly from the site or it will be mailed to you. Once you have the video and it is downloaded to your computer; you may continue ahead.
Step 3: Saving the Video to the iPod
The first thing you need to do is make sure you can easily find the movie you downloaded. Depending on the method you used to put it on your computer the file could have been saved without you choosing where it should go. Locate the file and move it to your desktop for easy placement to the iPod. Next, connect the USB cable that came with your iPod to the computer and to the player. You will need iTunes in order to add video so follow the steps on the screen to sign up for the service. Once the software recognizes your iPod it will show up on the left column of iTunes. Follow these steps in the iTunes program:
- Click on the "file" selection on the menu then choose the "Add File to Library" menu option
- Find the movie you want to put on the iPod and click on "Open"
- In the left column of iTunes select "Movies" under the "Library" heading
- Single-click on the file and drag it to the iPod listed under "Devices"
After it has copied and synced to your system you can unplug the iPod. You can play your video by going to "Videos" under the menu on the iPod.
