Messy clothes are nobody’s favorite and if your preferred outfit gets a dripping from a candle, you should be able to remove wax from the fabric without damaging it. The removal is fairly easy when you follow a few simple instructions.
Step 1 - Scraping the Wax
Scrape off as much of the wax as you can using a blunt knife.
Step 2 - Covering the Wax
Put a butcher paper on top of the wax stain with the glossy side up. You can also use a brown paper bag.
Step 3 - Ironing the Wax
Heat your iron and press its tip carefully on the stain area. Let it stay until the wax starts to melt and cling to the paper. Lift the paper up.
Step 4 - Removing Wax Dye
If the wax has been dyed, put some denatured alcohol on the stain and sponge it with water.
Step 5 - Washing the Clothes
Once you are done with the wax removal wash your clothing like you normally do.
Since a dyed wax can usually leave a stain on the fabric, you may alternately pick the wax off using your fingers once it has dried and hardened. Common laundry products that are found inside the house can be used to remove the remaining dye stains.
