A vacuum sweeper is a vacuum cleaner. The best advice for repairing your vacuum sweeper/cleaner is to take it to a vacuum cleaner technician. If you want to do this work yourself there are some questions you need to answer first.

The first question to answer is a simple one: what needs to be repaired? That depends on the problem you are having with your vacuum sweeper. If it is not picking up dirt or experiencing a loss of suction, this may be caused by many different problems. These can range from needing to replace the vacuum cleaner bag to replacing the vacuum cleaner motor. You will need to complete a diagnostic test of the vacuum cleaner in order to find the problem. This article will  describe, in general terms, how to repair a vacuum sweeper. It will refer to the "vacuum sweeper" as a vacuum cleaner to remove any confusion in the terms.

Step 1: Purchase a Repair Manual

If you are going to repair a vacuum cleaner on your own you should have a diagnostic repair manual for the vacuum cleaner. The repair manual should be for the brand of vacuum cleaner that you own. The manual should have schematic drawings and instructions on how to identify problems, as well as repair them.

You can purchase a diagnostic repair manual online, or directly from the manufacturer of your vacuum cleaner.

Step 2: Diagnose the Repair Issue

Determine the problem with your vacuum cleaner in order to make the necessary repair. If the problem with the vacuum cleaner is poor suction, determine what the cause of the poor suction is. It could be as simple as a full vacuum cleaner bag that needs to be replaced or a belt that is worn and old, which can also be replaced.

The repair manual should be able to troubleshoot the problem and find the appropriate repair solution.

Step 3: Replacing the Vacuum Cleaner Motor

If the nature of your problem has to do with the motor of your vacuum cleaner, you will need to remove it and replace it with a new vacuum cleaner motor. Do this by opening the vacuum cleaner up and locating the vacuum cleaner motor. Once you locate the motor, use the screwdriver to loosen any screws that attaches the motor to the vacuum cleaner. Purchase a replacement motor and belts for the vacuum cleaner from a vacuum cleaner supply store. Place the replacement vacuum cleaner motor into the vacuum cleaner and test the vacuum cleaner to make sure that the repair was successful.
