How to Set Up and Use a Smoker Thermometer
what you'll need
- Wireless smoker thermometer transmitter and receiver
- 4 AAA batteries
- Stainless steel probes
- Heatproof cooking gloves
Follow the steps below to add a smoker thermometer to your grilling tool kit, to help you achieve delicious, healthy results when smoking meats. Set up your smoker grill according to the assembly instructions, then start the grill. Put two of the AAA batteries provided with the thermometer kit into the transmitter and two into the receiver. For smoking you will want a higher temperature than for grilling. The best smoking temperature is 250 degrees F. For grilling, use 160 degrees F as your high temperature. Do not set either high temperature above 400 degrees F. Set the low temperature for grilling and smoking at 25 degrees below the high temperature. Connect the smoker probe to the transmitter and to the grilling rack. Connect the grilling probe to the transmitter and pierce the piece of meat you are grilling with the stainless steel probe end. An alarm will sound if either temperature goes above the high setting or drops below the low setting. Step 1: Set Up Your Smoker Grill
Step 2: Install Batteries in the Transmitter and Receiver
