How to Set Up the Floor for a Home Acoustic Recording Studio
what you'll need
- Audio Console
- Audio Cables
- Work Desk Speakers
- Microphone
- Computer
- Tape Recorder
When it comes to making an acoustic recording studio in the home, it takes a little skill and patience to handle the job. Here is how you can acheive this goal.
Step 1 - Setting Up The Studio
First, decide on what the acoustic studio will look like, and know the basic inputs. Know what type of signal flow the studio will have. It is best to build outward from the audio console. Once the audio console is up, it is time to wire the studio. Each audio source should be connected in the input. This is especially important for production work. Use cable snakes which will run from the board to where the microphones are located. This is essential for recording multiple sources.
Step 2 - Connect The Console
Connect the audio console to monitors, recording devices or a computer. Also, connect the outputs to a recording machine. Use one of the outputs from the console for the speakers.
Step 3 - The Final Connection
After connecting the outputs, be sure to connect back to the board, in order to monitor the audio. After this, add the microphone to complete the task.
