How to Speed up Internet Browsing on a Mac

by DoItYourself Staff

If you have a mac computer it will be useful to know how to speed up Internet browsing on it. At times the Internet can be slow, but there are a few tricks to improve its performance.

Cache

Most Mac users use Safari as their browser of choice, as it is the default browser. Safari tries to speed up the Internet by storing recently visited websites on the computer. This is common for all web browsers and is known as caching. However, there can be times when the data in the cache becomes corrupted or too big. This could slow down the Internet.

Emptying the cache is very easy, you just need to open the Safari Menu and click on the "Empty Cache" option. Then confirm that you want to delete the cache by clicking on the OK button.

Reset

Another option might be to reset all of the settings in Safari. Resetting Safari will clear the cookies, Internet history, auto-fill data, and the cache. This is a wonderful tool, although it won't store the information required to log in to various websites.

Resetting Safari is very easy and can be done by clicking the Safari Menu and then selecting "Reset Safari." You will then need to confirm your decision.
