An RV skylight can easily be tinted. It is a simple way to reduce the amount of light that enters the vehicle or to add a colorful touch. Follow the simple steps below to tint a skylight on your own.
Step 1: Clean the Skylight
First, clean the skylight well. Use a glass cleaner and clean, soft cloths to wipe and remove any dirt, dust and smudges. Make sure you allow it to dry well.
Step 2: Prepare the Window Tint
Acquire a window tint in the shade you wish. Then, depending on the dimensions of your RV skylight, carefully cut the window tint to fit it. Make sure to leave a small allowance just in case; this can be cut off later. Then, gently peel off the back part of the window tint so as to reveal the sticky side.
Step 3: Sticking the Window Tint
Carefully stick the window tint to one side of the skylight. Then, slowly smooth it toward the opposite side, moving little by little so as to fix it as neatly as possible. Once ready, you might notice that some bubbles may have formed in some areas. Use a squeegee to smooth them out.
Step 4: Remove any Excess
Use a razor blade to trim away any excess window tint on the sides.
