How to Use a Folding Boat Trailer Hitch
what you'll need
- Folding Boat Trailer Hitch
- Wrench
If you want to attach your boat trailer to your car, then you might want to consider using a folding boat trailer hitch. These are designed to be used with a vehicle, but can also be folded up and put away when not in use. This makes it a great tool, particularly if you do not have much space in your garage.
Step 1 - Unfold the Boat Trailer Hitch
Start by unfolding the boat trailer hitch. Move it into position while it is folded, and then unclip the extending arms from the sides. Pull upwards, so that the trailer hitch extends in size. Place the wrench over the key, and turn it to seal the hitch in place, and then secure it. You could do this by tightening the screws with a screwdriver, but it can be done easily by hand.
Step 2 - Mount the Hitch
Take the boat trailer hitch, and place the connecting end against the bumper of your car. You should be able to wind up the connection, so that the jaws are open, rather like a C-clamp. Screw this down using the wrench, so that it bites comfortably into your bumper. You should then be able to load the boat onto the trailer.
