If adding rooms at home, completing an underground room, or simply putting up lights and receptacles, it is advisable to know how to wire a light switch from a receptacle. Below is a guide on how to do so.
Step 1- Make a Wiring Plan
Make a sketch of the wiring plan. Decide where to put the receptacle and the light switch; mark the locations on the wall’s beams using a pencil. Seeing it as a clue, make a note of how far above the ground the light switches and different receptacles are.
Step 2- Set up Electrical Boxes
Set up gang electrical boxes on the locations in which the receptacle and light button would be. Grip the gang electrical box in the marked location and thump in fasteners to keep them in place at the wall beams. A power wire is needed, and installing a 12-2 wire with ground NMB cable is recommended. It has an utmost current rating of 20 amps. Then, run one more 12-2 wire starting from the switch box to the motion sensors.
