If I glue cork to the wall will it act as soundproofing?
People often glue cork to the walls of a room to act as soundproofing. Cork provides a a layer of material that can diffuse sound to a certain extent, and act as an insulating material for the room. Cork by itself does not offer a great deal of soundproofing for a room. However, if you put cork over drywall and then put another layer of drywall over the cork, you will then create a better soundproofing system. The soft cork will create a layer of air in between the two layers of drywall. The cork, along with the air trapped in the cork, helps to create a soundproofing material.
