Improve Your Photos Using a Light Tent

Taking photos is very easy to do, but to do it properly you need to spend a long time learning and improving your skills. If you want to take photos of something up close, then you will need to use a light tent. A light tent is a special type of box which will diffuse light and make it much more even.

Building a Light Tent

It's actually very easy to build a light tent, you just need a box and some white cotton fabric.

• Cut the sides of the box out to make a frame.
• Fix the fabric or white paper onto the box. This will create a diffuser which will stop the light from being too powerful and washing out the photos.

Using Your Light Tent

To use your light tent you simply need to apply an external lighting source outside of the light tent. This will shine through the fabric which will illuminate the object and make it look as good as possible. The light is diffused and so won't be reflected off the objects in question.

When using your light tent you need to be careful to ensure that the light is evenly applied so that it doesn't look too harsh.
