Replacing your bathroom light fan is a very quick and easy do-it-yourself project. Follow these easy steps and you will have your fan installed in no time.
Step 1-Shut off Your Breaker
When performing any electrical work is to shut the breaker for that area off at the circuit board. Failure to do so may result in a shocking experience one won’t soon forget.
Step 2-Remove the Old Fan
After you’ve shut the power your can remove the old fan by removing the fixture plate and disconnecting the lead, neutral, and ground wires from both the power and switch feeds.
Step 3-Place New Fan in and Reconnect the Wires
Check the manufacturer’s mounting instructions for the new bathroom light fan before proceeding. Re-connect the lead, neutral, and ground on the new fixture to the corresponding wires in the ceiling. Make sure you use the proper sized wire nuts to ensure a proper connection.
Step 4-Mount the Fixture Plate
Once the electrical connections have been completed you can mount the fixture plate and turn on the circuit breaker. Give a quick flip of the switch to make sure everything is working properly and your bathroom light fan is ready to go.
