Any grime then can be removed without any hassle. There are also a wide range of designs and colors that homeowners can choose from and this may enhance the interior of one's bathroom or give it an entirely different new look. Installation of laminate wall panels can also be accomplished by any DIYer.
Step 1- Get the Necessary Measurement
Since you will be covering your existing shower wall with new walls, simply get the measurements of the existing wall such that the laminate wall will blend perfectly to the space. Get appropriate measurements for each are, such as the wall with the shower controls, wall with hanging panels, and other areas. Use a tape measure to accomplish this and take note of the relative differences in the sizes to help you cut the panels to fit in each space. Also, take note of the spots where the control knobs of the shower fit into your laminate wall so you can make a cut on the laminate wall to expose these knobs. Make sure to get the right measurement so that your new wall will completely conceal the old one.
Step 2 – Cut the Panels According to Needed Size
Mark the measurements needed on the panel and cut each according to the size. For panels to be installed near shower knobs, include in the marking the spot where the knobs should be exposed and cut out this section so that the panel fits around the shower knobs.
Step 3 – Clean the Old Bathroom Wall
To ensure that the new laminate wall will stick to the old wall, remove all things that might influence adherence of the laminate wall and the adhesive to be used. Clean the old wall using all purpose cleaner and wash it generously with water. Wipe clean and make sure that the wall is also dry before installing the new wall.
Step 4 – Installation of the Laminate Wall Panels
Apply generous amount of laminate wall panel adhesive on the back surface of each panel and stick each on the spot where it should be placed. Don’t forget to remove the protective covering of each laminate panel before you install each one. For systematic results, start from the top section of one wall and end at the side closest to the floor. Should you find that the laminate wall is too long, cut the excess and fit again into the wall. To hide the seam made when two panels, meet, cut new smaller corner pieces and attach it to the seams. Again, apply ample amount of adhesive to the back part before placing it in the spot where it is needed.
