Integrating Japanese Fabric into Home Design
Using Japanese fabric to decorate any room of your house is becoming more and more popular among many home owners. Japanese style includes very little extras, and absolutely no clutter. Less is more when trying to decorate Japanese style. 1 - Window Treatments
Most homes include drapes or curtains for their window treatments now days. If you, yourself are a homeowner that appreciates drapes or curtains, than you will want to add such treatments in silk, keeping that silk to a white or black, with a tad of red if color is needed. Very light cream blinds are the best to cover those windows, but adding a bit of colored silk to your windows will still achieve that Japanese feel.
2- Table Runner
Recycling comes in handy for this option. If you are in love with the Japanese style, chances are that you own one or maybe even two traditional costumes or outfits.
Take a kimono sash and use it for your table runner. This could be one that you no longer wear, or one that you wear, but only need it on special occasions. Then take a vase and add some fake or real bamboo to it. Just like that you have created a Japanese table setting.
3 - Wall Hangings
Since the main colors of Japanese style is white and black, with a few splashes of red, you will find that there is not much color to your room. This is where the wall hangings come into play. The wall hangings that you will want to add are hangings that are made up of different colored silk. This adds a bit of color to your white and black room.
4 - Bedding
Crisp, bright white is the way to go when you are thinking about bedding for your bedroom. Another option of fabric to use in this case is a white and black pattern, with even some red integrated into it. Silk is again a great way to go, however not necessary since crisp white cotton is usually the brightest.
5 - Bathroom Towels
For your bathroom, it is easy to create a Japanese feel. Most appliances in a bathroom are white or black, so the color scheme is covered in regards to that. Add a white or black smooth fabric shower curtain, along with some red hand towels monogrammed with a Japanese accent, and you have a great bathroom.
Fortunately, since Japanese style is going off the more is less principle, it is inexpensive, and doesn't take a huge amount of time to achieve the Japanese style.
