Is a concrete or paver pool deck less slippery?

by DoItYourself Staff

Both a paver pool deck and a concrete version can be made slip-resistant if they have the right type of finish. Concrete that has a very rough finish or has small pebbles will provide the most traction and therefore be the most slip-resistant. If you are set on pavers, you could make a deck with the type that has a rough finish. Even when wet, the rough surface will reduce the possibility of slipping near the pool.
