Is a flagstone or stamped concrete patio more durable?

Stamped concrete patio durability has more to do with the part of the nation where you are located than with whether one is better than the other. In truth, flag stones tend to break into shards when stepped on incorrectly, while stamped concrete can fall victim to the heat-cold-thaw syndrome of the middle latitudes. In general, though, you will probably find that if your flag stones are installed correctly, they will have a longer life than a stamped concrete patio which can break up due to inclement weather.
