Is it Eco-Friendly to Burn Autumn Leaves?
Autumn leaves cause our yards to look messy, especially when they start to dry, giving the yard a dark brown coating. You may consider burning the leaves an easy way to rid of them, but it is actually toxic to you and the environment. Burning leaves emits hydrocarbons, and carbon monoxide. Both are detrimental to the environment, as well as to you if you breath them in. When these toxins are breathed in, it can cause serious irritation to your respiratory system. Many areas no longer allow burning leaves because it is not Eco-friendly, so do check with local authorities.
