Is There a Way to Stop Chipboard Flooring from Creaking?

by DoItYourself Staff

Chipboard flooring may creak when someone walks over it. Luckily, this is an easy problem to fix. The best way to do this is to use screws to screw down the chipboard to the floor joists. When you take on this project, you will need to take up the existing flooring and use a drill to screw down the chipboard. You should also do the entire job instead of focusing on only the area that is creaking. If you just do one portion, you will have to come back again and again.
