Kayak Fishing Tips for Night Time
Night fishing is different from day fishing so here are some kayak fishing tips that will help you.
Tip 1 - Know where You are
It is easy to use you bearing if you are kayak fishing at night. Invest in a good GPS plotter that you can use to save trails you have planned. By plotting a course in advance you will avoid getting lost and also make better use of your time. Many GPS plotters can also be used to programme in the water depths helping you to decide the best way to catch fish. Make sure your GPS plotter is waterproof or protect it with a waterproof casing.
Tip 2 - Know Your Tides
Don't get caught out by the tides if you are kayak fishing in tidal waters. Before your fishing trip make note of the low and high tides both to help you fish and for your own safety.
Tip 3 - Navigation Lights
If you are kayak fishing at night in most states you are not required by law to carry a light, however you should do for your own safety. A navigation light fitted in the middle of your kayak will alert others that you are there. You will also find it useful to see your fishing equipment.
