Maintain a Frameless Glass Shower Door

by DoItYourself Staff

A frameless glass shower door can be a great addition to your bathroom, especially if you had your shower redone in tile and don't want to hide it behind a shower curtain. A glass door can make your bathroom look very attractive and also much bigger, but to look good it needs to be sparkling clean.

Keeping It Sparkling

Your new frameless glass shower door will require more maintenance than a regular curtain. It is important to maintain you glass door right from the start. Use a small squeegee to wipe soap and water drops off away after every shower.

Prevent Water Stains

Water drops that have settled on glass are nearly impossible to remove over time. Soap scum and shampoo are also responsible for stains on your glass.

If you neglect to use your squeegee every time and your door gets stains, use a non-abrasive cream or spray on bathroom cleaner and scrub your glass gently. If you wait too long, the water stains may remain.

Maintenance is Key

You will soon find out that is is a lot easier to wipe your glass everyday than scrubbing it once a week. That way, your shower glass door will always look like brand new, and so will your bathroom.
