Maintaining and Caring for Your Stainless Steel Wine Cooler
A stainless steel wine cooler provides a stylish and practical solution to storage issues. As with any appliance, a wine cooler must be well maintained to prolong its lifespan and optimize its cooling ability. The care and maintenance of a stainless steel variety differs from that of other types. Here's what you need to know.
Location
To ensure that your stainless steel wine cooler works to its optimum level, you should place it in a position where it has space around it. This will ensure that you do not inadvertently block any of the vents in the casing of the cooler. Similarly, it should not be placed too close to any appliances that generate a large amount of heat, which can affect the operation of the cooler. In addition to the size of the cooler, you should also ensure that there is sufficient space around it to allow you to open the door unhindered. You'll also need an electrical socket nearby to provide the appliance with a power supply.
Installation
Ensure that the stainless steel wine cooler is level when it is installed. If it is necessary for you to fit treads onto the cooler yourself, make sure this is done properly so that they are all level. The power cable should be kept as straight as possible to prevent it being affected by any kinks or coils, which can cause damage to the wires within.
Use
Only use the stainless steel wine cooler in accordance with its design and instructions. Read the instruction manual before installing or using the cooler. Ensure that the appliance is set the correct way around. If the shelves of the cooler are adjustable, only position as they are designed to be fitted. Do not attempt to overfill the cooler by inserting more bottles that it can reasonably hold, which should be outlined in the manual. Make sure that the door can always be closed properly. When using it, take care not to allow bottles to bang or scratch the inner or outer surface if the cooler. Avoid resting any items on top of the cooler or allowing any other items to press up against the surface.
Clean
Avoid using any harsh or abrasive cleaning substances on the stainless steel wine cooler, which can not only cause damage but can also affect the quality of the wine. A soft cloth will be sufficient for the task of cleaning rather than any type of scouring sponge. For a natural cleaner, diluted white vinegar or lemon juice will be sufficient. When necessary, wipe the inner surface of the cooler, making sure that corners and edges are also covered. The external surfaces of the cooler can be cleaned in the same way, wiping with a dry cloth afterwards to ensure no drip marks. Wipe a dampened cloth along the seal of the cooler to remove any debris that might be present.
