Make Tasty Mint Green Tea From Scratch

Mint green tea is a tasty and healthful blend of two simple ingredients - green tea and mint leaves. You may be able to find it ready-made in tea bags in the supermarket, but it is actually very easy to mix up your own blend from scratch.

Ingedients

You will need to find loose green tea leaves, instead of green tea in tea bags. Some supermarkets carry loose green tea, and you can also find it in Asian markets, coffee and tea shops, and some health food stores. You will also need dried mint leaves - either peppermint, spearmint, or a blend of both. Mint leaves can also be found in health food stores, or in stores which carry herbs and spices in bulk - or, you can also simply buy mint tea in tea bags from your supermarket and cut a couple bags open to pour out the mint leaves inside.

Blend

To mix up your blend, simply combine the green tea and the mint leaves in a bowl. You will need about a quarter cup to a half cup of mint leaves for each cup of green tea leaves. Store your blend in an airtight container and keep in a cool, dry place.

Brew

To brew a cup of your tea, use a mesh tea infuser ball to hold the leaves. Simply fill the tea ball with about a teaspoon of your mint green tea blend, then place it in a mug and add a cup of boiling water. Let steep for about three minutes, just as you would with a tea bag, then remove the tea ball and enjoy your mint green tea.
