Marble Bathroom Floor vs Ceramic Tile Bathroom Floor
There are many advantages to installing a marble bathroom floor or a ceramic tile bathroom floor. Both add beauty and functionality to your bathroom, but they also come with their respective cons.
Ceramic Tile
You should choose a grade of ceramic tile that will endure extreme use over a period of time. Make sure the your ceramic tiles are installed properly. If you have tile that is installed on concrete slabs, these may crack if the concrete slabs under it crack. If your ceramic tiles are installed over wood floors, these tiles might be vulnerable to flex movements. Have silicone sealer available and apply this to the tile to prevent discoloration.
Marble Flooring
Keep in mind that marble can easily stain and break. Even water can leave a stain on marble if it remains there for a long time. If you encounter spills on your marble floor, be sure to wipe the spill immediately to prevent staining. Use clean cloth and a mild cleaning agent to clean your marble floor at least once a week. You can also use non-yellowing wax to provide an extra layer of protection to your marble floor.
