Masonry Wall Vent Installation Tips

In masonry construction, the trapped moisture can lead to some problems like spalling, mold and weakening of the building for which vent installation is a permanent solution. Proper ventilation is the important factor of moisture control. For masonry construction, the most effective drainage system includes mortar net, weep vents and block net. All these systems help in proper air flow, prevent insects from entering the wall and allow water to flow outside of the building.

Any kitchen range hoods play an important role. The major role of range hood is to take out hot air and cooking smells out. In addition, range hood help in making kitchen surface free of grease. To install a range hood in kitchen, first take out the fan, filter, light and electrical housing from the hood. Next, outline the location where you will mount the hood. Now drill holes, install ducts, seal the wall cap for preventing from moisture, reinstall the fan, light cover and filter.

Installation Tips and Mistakes to Avoid

Some small range hoods are noisy. For this reason, it is advisable to buy a little oversized unit and run it at half the speed than the small ones.  There is no problem regarding large and small hoods as both can move the same amount of air.

In addition to this, make sure that your power source can provide the required amount of current to run the range hood.
