Microwave Convection Ovens
Microwave convection ovens marry convection cooking with microwave cooking in one unit to offer accurate and rapid cooking. The microwave element speeds the cooking process, while the convection element enables even cooking through its circulating air currents.
Using microwave convection ovens
Microwave convection ovens can be used solely for microwave cooking, solely for convection cooking, or for a combination of both cooking methods. Using just one or the other cooking method of a combination microwave convection oven allows the cook to do everything a stand-alone microwave or regular oven can, including brown and crisp food. Combining the two cooking methods of a microwave convection combo oven cuts down on cooking time and keeps nutrients in food without having to give up the option of crisping.
Types of microwave convection ovens
Countertop microwave convection combo oven units vary from subcompact models appropriate for desktops to full-size for large kitchens. The doors on these types of microwave convection ovens are either side-hinged or bottom-hinged.
Built-in combination microwave convection ovens are simply countertop models that are installed beneath a countertop or wall cabinet through the use of a particular type of bracket.
