Mounting Your Rifle Rack
what you'll need
- Rifle Rack
- Drill
- Stud Finder
- Measuring Tape
- Level
A rifle rack offers the best way to organize your guns and rifles on a wall, keeping them out of reach of little hands. Rifle racks are made from many different materials in a wide variety of designs, or you may have one you made yourself. Mount a rack high enough on a wall that children will not be able to reach it. Also, make sure that your rifles are never loaded when displayed this way to avoid fatal gunshot accidents; even when dropped, fully-loaded guns can set off. Secure ammunition in a secure locked cabinet for everyone’s safety and protection.
Step 1 - Find a Location
Decide where you want to mount your rifle rack. Measure the rifles that will be hung. Since rifle racks come in two separate pieces, you must install these pieces where the top rack will cradle the rifle's barrel. Use a stud finder to know where you will drill the holes for the mounts. Mark your locations.
Step 2 - Drill Holes
Drill the holes for the mounts then install the mounts. Attach the rifle rack and secure them in place. Use your level to make sure that they are leveled and even.
Step 3 - Display Rifles
You can now display your unloaded rifles on the rifle rack.
