Painting Panel Closet Doors: Decorate Your Room
Painting a panel closet door is one of the many ways that you can decorate a room, making it more unique with your own style and flair. Make sure that you choose two shades of paint: one color matching the other doors and trim in the room, and the other, a shade or two darker in hue.

You should paint the top, the bottom and the side boards of the doors first, allowing the paint to dry completely before continuing. The paint color matching your other trim should be used for this purpose. Then, tape off the door's inside panel, applying the darker paint to the closet door's inside panels. Allow the paint to dry completely before moving from one side of the door to the other. Both sides of the doors should be allowed to dry completely before the doors are closed.
For the best results, apply a commercial sealing product over the paint on the panel closet doors once it has been allowed to completely dry. Applying a clear sealant and allowing it the proper drying time will allow the finish on the closet doors to withstand wear and tear over time.
