Painting Victorian Dolls

Victorian dolls are very popular among collectors. These dolls can be almost priceless when they are maintained and kept looking in their original condition. Some people will also try their hand at making their own Victorian dolls to add to their collection. When making a Victorian doll one of the tasks is to paint them. Here is a quick guide to painting Victorian dolls.
Step 1 - Paint Body Coating
If you plant to paint the body of the doll, you need to use a foam brush and the color you are going to use. The foam brush will help to eliminate and brush strokes or paint drips.
Step 2 - Paint Facial Features
You will need a steady hand for this task. Use a very fine bristled paint brush and use small amounts of paint on its tip to paint the facial aspects and features of the Victorian doll. Draw it out on paper before hand so you have a plan to go by.
Step 3 - Use Sandpaper
You will need to use some 1500 to 2000 grit wet sandpaper and go over the doll very lightly.
Step 4 - Spray Clearcoat on Doll
After sanding the doll, wipe it off with a soft cloth. Spray two coatings of clearcoat over the entire body of the doll to protect its paint and features.
