Home security signs can be used to alert potential burglars to a home security system that you have in place. If you don't have a security system, signs can still deter theft as robbers usually avoid homes that they think are protected.

Step 1 – Select Your Home Security Signs
Home security signs are either designed to be stuck in the ground with a metal stake or to be mounted on your home with hooks. The ones that go in the ground are easier to install and more visible, but certain communities do not allow them. If you live in a deed-restricted community, check with your local government or community office to find out if there are any regulations you must adhere to when installing home security signs.
Step 2 – Select Locations
Selecting good, visible locations is extremely important. Place signs by all entrances, including your front door, back door and any side or glass doors. Your security provider may even provide small signs that stick to windows with adhesive. Your goal is to alert any would-be intruder that your home is protected. Do not sacrifice safety for aesthetics bu placing signs in obscure locations. They should be in the open and easily seen.
Step 3 – Install Your Signs
If your signs use metal stakes, use a hammer to push them into the ground.
If you are using wall-mounted signs, use a screwdriver or a power driver to put standard wood screws through the loops on the sign. If you have a brick or concrete block home, use a hammer drill to pre-drill holes, and then use tapcons to secure the signs.
Step 4 – Maintaining Your Signs
You may need to replace your home security signs periodically. Check your signs to verify that their colors are still vibrant and easily noticeable. Many sign manufacturers even use fluorescent paint or reflective strips to make them more visible. If the paint on the sign is starting to look faded or worn, replace it. Remember, the goal of these signs is to be extremely visible.
