Free home recording software is a good way to get started with your own music editing. In the end, if you want to do more involved recording, you will need to start looking for the software that carries a price. Free software does have its limits. Here are some of the cons.

• Limited Features - A lot of the free software that is available is a limited version of the full featured product. This means that you will need to buy a license code to get access to the parts that you need to great quality music.
• Lack of Support - When something goes wrong with your software you want to be able to get help. With free home recording software this is not always the case. Most of the time there is little, or very limited, support available.
• Hard to Use - There are moments when the free price tag is simply not worth it. This is strikingly clear when the software is very confusing and hard to use. Without any manuals, support, or other ways to learn the software, it will generally sit on your computer without being properly tested and used.
