Putting Non-Rechargables in an AA Battery Charger
Using a AA battery charger will only work when you are using rechargeable batteries. It can be extremely dangerous to charge batteries that are not rechargeable. Below are some of the reasons why you should never charge non rechargeable batteries.
Useless
It will not charge your battery. A battery that does not have the rechargeable function will not recharge. No matter how long you leave it on the charger and no matter what style of charger you use.
Safety Risks
You have to be careful when you are charging a battery that is rechargeable. When attempting to recharge a non rechargeable battery you are going to be running into even more serious risks than before. If you try to recharge a non rechargeable battery, then you will rupture the casing. Doing this will cause potassium hydroxide fluid to spill out, this fluid is exceedingly dangerous.
How to Tell
It is easy to tell the difference between a rechargeable battery and a non rechargeable battery. All rechargeable batteries will say so on their package. They will also say so on the actual battery. They almost always have a different color scheme than non rechargeable batteries as well.
If you are in doubt, then do not charge the battery.
