Quail Eggs

by DoItYourself Staff

Quail eggs tend to make much better food than a chicken egg. Quail egg omelets are loved by many and are very easy to make. You will need to gather the following ingredients before starting.

  • 12 quail eggs
  • 1/8 of a cup of milk
  • ¼ of a teaspoon of Tabasco sauce
  • 4 fried strips of bacon
  • ¼ cup of grated pepper jack cheese
  • 2 slices of cheddar cheese
  • anything else you would like in your omelet

Now that you have all of the ingredients pre-heat your pan and follow the following steps.

  • After gathering the ingredients you will want to use a mixing bowl to mix the 12 eggs, milk, Tabasco sauce, and pepper jack cheese.
  • Once the ingredients are fully mixed you should pour them into your frying pan.
  • Cook the omelet until it becomes fluffy and then add the bacon to the middle.
  • Now fold the omelet and add the cheddar cheese on the top.

Cooking with Quail Eggs

Cooking with quail eggs is a little different than you may be used to. They cook very differently than chicken eggs. Also, they are fluffier and make better omelets and scrambled eggs. Also, you will want to use 5 quail eggs to 1 chicken egg when substituting them in recipes.
