Step 1--Hot Water Extraction
Most of the time, people run into dog odor problems when they have carpet. The odor lingers in the carpet and you are going to have to clean it out. In order to do this, the best method is to use a hot water extractor or steam cleaner. This uses a very high temperature and water in order to disinfect and neutralize the odor. There is a pet enzyme that you can put in the steam cleaner that will help even further.
Step 2--Spray With Febreze
You should also spray the room thoroughly with an odor neutralizer such as Febreze. This will help eliminate odors in the room that are not located on the carpet.
Step 3--Baking Soda
Baking soda is another great product that you can use in this situation. You may need to sprinkle some on the carpet, and you can leave the box open in the room to help absorb some of the odors.
