Removing Adhesive from Cars: How to Protect the Paint

Removing adhesive from cars can be a very tricky process. There is the large concern of protecting the paint and making sure it does not chip. There are lots of home remedies that can be suggested, but you must be careful what you use on your car's paint. This article will tell you how to safely remove adhesive from your car while protecting the paint.

Step 1 - Remove adhesive

Put on your latex gloves before you begin anything to protect your skin. It is important to never let your skin come in contact with any of the chemicals. Apply a small amount of lighter fluid to the microfiber cloth and gently rub the area of the car that is soiled with adhesive. Be patient and rub in small circles until the adhesive is gone. This may take several applications of lighter fluid.

Step 2 - Wash the Area

Using 1 part car wash soap and 3 parts water, wash the area of the car that you applied the lighter fluid to. Make sure to rinse the area thoroughly.

Step 3 - Dry

Using a clean microfiber towel, dry the area you have just washed.
