What You Need

  • Paint Brush
  • Shellac or Rust-stopping Primer
  • Primer and Paint

1. Using the #952 grinding stone, scour the nail head until it's bright and rust-free. Also gently remove discolored paint around the nail.

2. After wiping the spot clean, treat the metal and wood with shellac or rust-stopping primer.

3. Prime the spot with an exterior, oil-based primer. Finally, paint the spot with either oil or latex paint.
