Replacing kitchen door knobs is simpler than installing new kitchen door knobs. While you will need to drill a hole in case you need to install a new kitchen door knob, replacing one only involves removing the old and tightening some screws in place for the new.
First, measure the kitchen door knobs that you have to replace. There are some basic standard sizes and what you need to measure is the distance from the door edge to the center of the hole. Ensure that the new kitchen door knobs that you purchase are the same size.
Remove the screws on the side of the kitchen door knobs and remove the ring before pulling the kitchen door knobs off. Similarly unscrew the screws that hold the latch plate in place and remove the latch plate. Last but not the least, remove the screws that hold the strike of the kitchen door knobs and remove the piece too.
For installing new kitchen door knobs, insert the latch in the edge of the door and fasten the screws. Insert the kitchen door knobs by adjusting the spindle through the latch. This will need to be done on both sides for the kitchen door knobs. Attach the strike to the door frame and secure it y using the screws.
Make sure that you check the replaced kitchen door knobs by closing and opening the door a few times to ensure proper replacement.
