- Step 2: Plan your running course. Some people go the same way every day, while others choose new routes. If you will be running into unfamiliar areas it is best to take a map or cell phone in case you get lost.
- Step 3: Do a few stretches and warm ups before you start your running exercise. This will prevent you from pulling a muscle.
- Step 4: Set your watch for 20-30 minutes and start running at a steady pace. If you get tired, reduce your speed to a jog or brisk walk for a minute and return to running.
