Set up Digital Cable through a Home Theater Projector

by DoItYourself Staff

To watch crystal-clear high definition TV through your home theater projector, you will need to set it up for digital cable access. You can switch this connection over easily yourself without needing a cable company technician to come by. Here is how to connect your digital cable service through your home theater projector.

Connect the Projector to the Cable Access Unit

Install the projector so its lens points at the home theater viewing screen. Plug it into the closest electrical outlet. Connect the three segments of the home theater receiver cable to the same-colored (red green and blue) ports on the projector. Place the cable access unit so it can be connected to the projector via its video cable, a cable TV wall jack and an electrical outlet. Use an optical cable to connect the projector to the cable access unit. Connect the cable TV coaxial cable to the cable access unit's Cable-in portal, and plug in the electrical connection.

Connect the Home Theater Speakers

Locate the speakers around the room and connect them to the home theater receiver unit, in the correct port for each position.

Turn on the Home Theater

Turn on your home theater system and the cable access unit, and enjoy watching high-definition television in your home theater.
