Should I Use Car Wax Buffer on a Car that Has a Clear Coat Finish?

by DoItYourself Staff

With most cars, you can use a car wax buffer on them even if they have a clear coat finish. This clear coat finish tends to wear off of a new car after a certain amount time. By using a wax, you can restore the clear coat finish and protect it. You can use a polishing product on the car as long as it says it is "clear coat safe." If you are not careful with the products that you use, they could potentially scratch the clear coat and you will damage the look that the clear coat provides.
