A single family house is a structure built with the intention of providing housing for one family.
What are the Characteristics of a Single Family House?
A single family house is designed to provide housing to one family and as such will generally share a number of specific characteristics that will often not be found in other structures designed for multi family dwelling. Generally, a single family house will have a garage. The number of cars this garage will hold varies but in most homes will generally be a two car garage.
Multi-family dwellings like apartments generally do not offer garages and duplexes will generally have a garage on either side, if they offer one at all. Single family homes will generally have one front entrance and a rear entrance.
Some offer a side entrance off the garage as well. Single family homes offer one kitchen per structure. These types of homes are not split into multiple units. A single family house offers one living area generally involving a living room, one or more bedrooms, a kitchen and one or more bathrooms.
