Site work is a term used to describe any work done when preparing a site for construction.
What are Common Things Done During Site Work?
Site work includes all work done to prepare a site for construction. The site is the location where the construction will be occurring. Time must be spent to survey the site, verifying that it meets city, county and state zoning regulations so permits can be pulled for the construction project.
The next step involves digging up a section of land where the main foundation will be poured. Plumbing lines must be buried underground and connected to the city main lines where available. For cities which use underground electrical wiring, the main power line must be buried underground in conduit. The plumbing and electrical lines will exit in the section which was created for this in the foundation.
Following the water and electrical installation, the initial stages of construction or site work will occur. The concrete will be poured and allowed to settle for a period of one to two weeks.
