Unlike hardshell kayaks, inflatable models fold up into a small, more manageable size. With a foot, hand or electric pump, this type of kayak quickly inflates and is ready to go. Fishermen, too, benefit from the convenience and portability of inflatable kayaks. Smart operation, especially where sharp hooks and potential snags are involved, is necessary. 

Don't Go Cheap

When looking for the right inflatable kayak to use for fishing, don't go cheap. There are budget models available for anywhere from $100 to $200. While these work well for floating on a lake or other recreational pursuits, their design is not durable enough to withstand frequent contact with rocks, snags, hanging limbs or other hazards.
