Installing a solar powered motion detector light can be a great addition to any house. While it does present you with a few benefits, there are also some drawbacks. Here are a few pros and cons of solar-powered motion detector lights.

Pros

Energy efficient- When you have a solar-powered light, you will be doing your part to help the environment. You should be able to save some money by not paying for the power that lights your outdoor lights.
Convenient- When you have a solar-powered motion detector light, they are very convenient to use. You do not have to worry about turning them on or off when you are in the area. When you walk by, the light will automatically turn on.

Cons

No control- When you deal with a motion detector light, one of the drawbacks is that you have very little control over the light. For example, if you are outside and you want the light to stay on, you have to keep moving by it to turn it on.

Nuisance- When you have a solar-powered motion detector light, it can come on at inconvenient times. For example, if a dog runs by the house in the middle of the night, your outside light might come on and disturb you and your neighbors.
