Splash Block

A splash block is a small block usually manufactured using concrete which is shaped in such a way to catch water from a drain spout and let it flow away from the building.

Different Types of a Splash Block

A splash block is generally manufactured using concrete. They are shaped like a rectangle widening out at one end and with a lip rising on three sides. This allows the water to funnel from the back of the splash to the front and away from the building. Splash blocks are available in a number of different colors, styles and sizes. Generally newly constructed buildings will include basic concrete splash blocks with no color.

Some home owners choose to replace these basic splash blocks with decorative versions which come in a variety of decorative colors. Some of the more popular splash block designs include an aggregate finish, and decorative splash blocks. An aggregate finish gives the splash block a more natural dark stone look while decorative versions offer any number of unique designs.
