Starting a Gas Refrigerator
what you'll need
- A long reach lighter (Butane)
A gas refrigerator is used in places where electricity is not available. While the older models used gas equipment starting technique, modern type of gas refrigerators have their own starting technique with a special piezoelectric starter button.
Step 1: Turning on the Gas Tank
First turn on the gas valve of the gas tank that enables the flow of gas that makes the refrigerator run.
Step 2: Setting the Energy Selector
Make sure that energy selector is selected to “gas function“. Most of the modern gas refrigerators have the energy selectors to select its energy supply source.
Step 3: Releasing the Gas
Now, turn on the main control by pressing it downwards. By doing this small amount of gas will be released which will help in gas refrigerator to start.
Step 4: Checking for Flame in the Burner
Next step is to push the electric start button. Every time it is pushed a spark is generated at the gas burner. Every time you push the starter you have to check whether there is a flame at the burner.
Step 5: Igniting the Flame
Now ignite the flame and hold the safety valve for 15 to 20 seconds. If the flame goes off you have to repeat the procedure from step 1. Once constant flame is maintained, the gas refrigerator has successfully started.
