While dishwasher door repair is not always easy, this step-by-step guide will give you a helping hand in replacing a dishwasher door.
1. Make sure you’ve turned off the electricity to the dishwasher. Turn the water off as well.
2. Locate any screws on the dishwasher door that need to be removed. There are usually two screws on each side of the bottom of the door. There may be a few screws near the latch as well. Normally, you won’t need to remove the latch.
3. Open the door and start to look for the screws on the inside. You will find it easier to first remove the screws along the top of the door and then move to the bottom. It is likely that you will not have to remove the screws around the hinge mechanism.
4. Start to lift the panel once the screws are removed. Do this slowly and gently. If you find wires attached to the panel, you should call a licensed professional instead of continuing the repair yourself.
5. Once the panel is lifted you should be able to see the hinges clearly. Check for signs of wear or damage.
6. Replace the hinges as necessary.
7. Replace the panel.
