Sturdy And Simple Shower Slide Bar Installation

A shower slide bar is an easy solution for households in which several people of differing heights use the same shower. Slide bar showers are easy to install and allow you to shift the shower head to different heights and adjust it to different angles, allowing anyone to take a shower in comfort.

Simple Installation Method #1

Step 1
The simplest installation of a slide bar shower involves no drilling into the shower or bathtub enclosure wall at all. Instead, a strong suction cup is used to attach the slide bar to the existing tile or marble surround.  

Step 2
The shower head or heads replace the existing shower heads and are connected to the water line through the existing shower head attachment. Then a flexible water hose is also attached to the shower head.

Step 3  Next, attach the shower head to the bar and slide the shower head to the desired height.

Simple Installation Method #2
This method involves the use of a power drill to permanently install a shower slide bar.

Step 1  On the shower surround, use a marker to mark where you will need to drill holes for the slide bar to be mounted on the surround.

Step 2  Using the power drill and a bit designed for either tile or marble (or the material of your shower surround), drill a pilot hole for each screw needed to attach the slide bar to the shower surround.

Step 3  Holding the slide bar carefully in place, screw the bar into place and mount it against the shower surround.

Step 4  Carefully seal around the screws with silicone caulk.

Step 5  Attach the shower head to the bar and slide to the desired height.

A shower slide bar provides an inexpensive means of adjusting the height and direction of your shower head for use by different people as well as adding functionality to bathtubs that do not have a shower head.
