Tomato soup is an extremely popular dish known through out the world today. It is commonly served with grilled cheese sandwiches, but goes great with almost any gourmet meal. It is a perfect meal to warm you up on a cold winter day.

How to Prepare Tomato Soup

Before you begin to prepare your tomato soup you will need to gather up the following ingredients:
• 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
• 1 cup chopped onion
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1/2 cup chopped carrot
• 1/4 cup chopped celery
• 2 (28 ounce) cans crushed tomatoes
• 3 1/2 cups vegetable broth
• 1 tablespoon vegetarian Worcestershire sauce
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
• 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
• 4 drops hot pepper sauce
The first step to preparing your delicious tomato soup is to heat your oil in a Dutch-oven over medium-high heat. Next you will add the carrot and celery and cook 7-9 minutes, until tender.

Make sure you stir frequently. After that you will need to stir in tomatoes, broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, thyme, pepper and hot pepper sauce. The last thing you will need to do is reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer for twenty minutes. Remember to stir frequently. Enjoy your tomato soup!
