Tips on Cleaning Vinyl Car Upholstery
what you'll need
- Hot water
- Soft rags
- Vacuum
- Vinyl cleaner
- Vinyl protectant
Cleaning a car's vinyl upholstery is necessary to remove ground in dirt and stains. It's not a difficult task and only requires some time, a few supplies and some elbow grease.
Step 1 - Choose a Good Day
When you get ready to clean your car's vinyl upholstery, make sure no rain is in the forecast. You don't want to have to abandon your project because of the weather.
Step 2 - Vacuum
Vacuum your vinyl upholstery with a brush attachment to remove all loose dirt and debris. Make sure to get into the cracks between the seats and between the seats and backrests.
Step 3 - Wipe Clean
Use hot water and a clean soft rag to remove any dust and dirt left behind. Allow to dry for a few hours.
Step 4 - Vinyl Cleaner
Spray vinyl cleaner on seats and use a clean, dry towel in a circular motion to rub it in. Use extra on ground in dirt and stains as needed.
Step 5 - Vinyl Protectant
Apply a vinyl protectant such as Armor All to a clean dry cloth, not directly to the upholstery, to prevent streaks. Rub it into your vinyl upholstery in a circular motion, small areas at a time.
